POSITION OVERVIEW
Senior Cost Specialist
ABOUT THIS ROLE
This role supports USAF and USSF acquisition programs by providing cost, schedule, and risk analysis for modern weapon systems and software driven environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with cost analysts and subject matter experts
- Develop life cycle cost estimates for weapon system programs
- Analyze historical data and develop cost estimating relationships
- Assess technology trends and cost impacts
- Analyze software tracking tools and develop program metrics
- Interview functional specialists to support estimating methodologies
- Develop risk distributions for cost drivers
- Analyze schedules and quantify uncertainty
- Develop metrics for complex software programs
- Build spreadsheet based decision analysis cost models
- Apply statistical methods to assess budget and schedule success
- Conduct trade studies and economic analyses
- Support program managers with contract strategies and plans
