POSITION OVERVIEW

Program Analyst - Full-Time Role

Location: Washington, DC

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Program Analyst provides direct support to the Policy Director and Deputy Director, program managers, and staff on strategic policy and program matters. This role provides weekly status reporting, maintains policy archives, applies analysis tools to create integrated deliverables, and tracks milestones from Federal Program Managers and National Laboratories. You will support efficient program execution while ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with federal standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive input from program managers and review policy for accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain archives of policy and plans at headquarters
  • Distribute policy materials to program managers and leadership
  • Apply analysis tools to create deliverables integrating program execution data and performance metrics
  • Track, update, and submit milestones from Federal Program Managers and National Laboratories
  • Review program performance activities, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
  • Recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Draft official memoranda, briefing materials, and policy documents
  • Perform technical editing in accordance with federal directives
  • Catalog and maintain tracking systems for assigned tasks
  • Attend policy meetings and provide summaries to leadership and staff
  • Provide logistics support for meetings, seminars, and program reviews
  • Coordinate travel, facilities, classified network access, and VTC capabilities
  • Create and organize meeting agendas and materials
  • Perform technical writing and documentation tasks
  • Draft, revise, and edit reports, articles, and technical materials
  • Edit complex technical data for manuals, SOPs, and program guidance
  • Assist in creating project plans using project management software
  • Work during non-standard hours and weekends as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Expert technical writing and editing capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge of federal government processes and directives
  • Strong analytical and research abilities
  • Proficiency with project management software
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of DOE operations and agency structure preferred
  • Ability to work with sensitive and classified information
  • Strong communication skills in both written and oral formats
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college plus 3+ years professional experience
  • 3-5 years of technical writing experience for government offices
  • Current DOE Q or DOD Top Secret security clearance
  • Strong, clear, and concise communication skills
  • Ability to work in fluid, fast-paced environments
  • Familiarity with DOE operations and NNSA Laboratories preferred
