Data Engineer

Location: San Antonio, Texas, Hybrid

ABOUT THIS ROLE

You support ingestion of mission critical data into large scale big data environments. You also lead departmental efforts and ensure data integrity while supporting government missions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with structured and unstructured big data systems
• Support government data acquisition, analysis, and sharing
• Build and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines
• Ingest and modify data sources and implement testing
• Establish monitoring and troubleshoot data flows
• Lead department level technical and strategic initiatives
• Develop custom data transformation logic
• Perform data model analysis from ingest through visualization

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Big data ingestion and ETL development
• Apache NiFi administration and data flow troubleshooting
• Kafka, AWS S3, and SQS
• Java, Python, and SQL
• Data modeling and schema design
• Linux systems administration and Bash scripting

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 14 plus years experience in software, data, or database engineering
• Additional 4 years experience accepted in place of bachelor’s degree

CLEARANCE & LOCATION

• Clearance: TS SCI eligible
• Work Location: Hybrid, San Antonio TX
• DoD IAT Level II or higher required
