POSITION OVERVIEW
Cost Estimator Associate
Location: Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas
ABOUT THIS ROLE
This role supports cost estimation and analytical efforts for the C3I and Infrastructure Directorate, delivering cost and schedule insights for DoD weapon system programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with cost analysts and subject matter experts
- Develop life cycle cost estimates for weapon system programs
- Analyze historical data and develop cost estimating relationships
- Assess technology trends and cost impacts
- Analyze software tracking tools and develop program metrics
- Interview functional specialists to support estimating methodologies
- Develop risk distributions for cost drivers
- Analyze schedules and quantify uncertainty
- Develop metrics for modern software development programs
- Build spreadsheet based cost models
- Apply statistics to assess budget and schedule success
- Conduct business case analyses and trade studies
- Support program managers with contract strategies and plans

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Experience or coursework in cost analysis, economics, or quantitative disciplines
