POSITION OVERVIEW
Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Subject Matter Expert (SME2)
Location: Bethesda, MD (with off-site support in Manassas, VA)
Salary: $90k–$130k
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Support U.S. Navy’s Tactical Signatures Guidance (TSG) systems for shallow, littoral environments and threats from quiet diesel and nuclear submarines, focusing on Sonar Tactical Decision Aid for Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (STDA-I) embedded in Integrated Common Processor (ICP). Up to 10% travel (unlikely), relocation/signing bonus generally not negotiable, eligible for annual bonus if in SBA HUBZone.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute TSG system test plans/procedures
- Perform verification and validation of products to ensure performance and end-user satisfaction
- Provide onsite/offsite integration and testing support
- Ensure Signature Guidance products meet performance/interface requirements
- Investigate, recommend, and design GUI(s) for Signature Guidance products
- Work with government, internal teams, and industry partners on ASW Tactical Decision Aid development
- Track sponsor tasking and coordinate future requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience with Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems (IUSS)
- Subject matter expertise in ASW Sonar system operations
- Program support, software development/testing, configuration management, or technical writing experience
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years fleet operational experience in ASW (shore or SURTASS)
- Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Physics, Acoustics, or Engineering (Desired)
CLEARANCE & LOCATION
- Clearance: DoD Secret (interim required to start)
- Work Location: Bethesda, MD (off-site Manassas, VA support)
